A business related social networking site, LinkedIn acquired CardMunch in 2011 which is a mobile app maker that scans and converts into contacts. While scanning a business card to LinkedIn it can also gather persons ’extra information such as qualification, history, skills, and common contacts from LinkedIn profile if there is one. And if there is no profile in LinkedIn users can still get the details and can invite the contact to connect on LinkedIn.

Instead of keeping a persons’ business card you can just scan and store the card in your iPhone digitally with this app. Sid Viswanathan, co-founder of CardMunch said that this app is facing accuracy problem because there are set of people from Amazon’s mechanical Turks market place, who do the manual entry for this app which optical character recognition (OCR) couldn’t do, but the company is evaluating other technologies, reports Reuters. Cardmunch is a mobile business card transcription service. In this app users can click photos of business cards and submit which will transform into digital.
