Apple Set To Release iOS 4 Today

Apple is set to release the new iOS 4 operating system for its existing iPod Touch and iPhone devices - just in time for the launch of the new iPhone 4, which also uses the new OS.

In addition to the new iPhone 4, the OS is compatible with iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G devices. According to Apple, the software update will bring almost a 100 new features to the iPhone, including multi-tasking, enhanced e-mail management options, folder creation and management, an iBook reader application and advanced photo-tagging options.

In order to install the new OS, users must first download and install the latest version of Apple's media playing software, iTunes 9.2.

According to an insider tip, the company plans to release the iOS 4 update at around 9:00 am PST (Pacific Daylight Time), or 5:00 pm in the UK.
