Consumer Electronics Show 2012 at Las Vegas has unveiled lots of Ultrabooks and has given a final confirmation that 2012 is going to be the - Year of Ultrabooks. Ultrabook, the new vision of Intel has become the focal point of the all the major laptop maker which has made them to come up with this thinner, lighter, stylish and speedy version of laptops at this year’s CES. Let’s have a look at these new generation laptops.
1. Lenovo IdeaPad YOGA
The new IdeaPad YOGA makes you think whether it is an Ultrabook or a tablet, actually it’s is a thin & stylish Ultrabook which features a touchscreen with 360 degree flip screen which make it to be used as tablet too. The IdeaPad YOGA sports a 13.3 inch touchscreen with 1,600x900-pixel resolution, 8 GB of RAM, weighs just 1.4 kilogram and has a thickness 0.67 inch and has up to 256 GB of SSD storage. It is powered by Intel's Oak Trail processors and runs Microsoft's touch-friendly Windows 8 operating system. As it is running on Windows 8 OS it is expected to hit the market a bit late.
2. Acer Aspire S5
Acer Aspire S5 is the world’s thinnest ultrabook with just 0.59 inch and weighing just 1.35 kilograms. It features 13 inch LED Backlit display, powered by Intel Ivy Bridge Processor, 8 GB of RAM and runs on Windows 7 operating system. For connectivity it supports the faster data transfer speeds with thunderbolt, two USB 2.0 ports, USB 3.0, HDMI, audio and mic ports, web cam, integrated gigabit LAN and Bluetooth v3.0. Along with these specifications Acer Aspire S5 has Dolby home theater audio for a real entertainment experience. This ultrabook is available in India and costs 60000.
3. HP Envy 14 Spectre
With a sleek design weighing just 1.8 kilograms and only 0.78 inch thick, HP Envy Spectre is an eye catching ultrabook at CES.
HP Envy Spectre sports a 14 inch Radiance LED backlit display with 1,600x900 pixels of resolution. It is powered by Intel i5 processor, Intel HD 3000 graphic cards, 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of SSD and runs on Windows 7 OS. The device comes with Beats Audio, a physical volume knob, pre installed with full version of Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Premiere Elements. For connectivity it has USB 3.0, USB 2.0, Mini DisplayPort, HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth and Intel’s Wireless display technology WiDi. This stylish ultrabook is available from February 8 onwards with a price tag of 99000.
4. Asus Zenbook UX31E
Asus Zenbook UX31E has an excellent look with stunning 13 inch LED Backlight display with 1600x900 pixels of resolution. It is powered by Intel Core i7 processor, Intel HD 3000 graphic card, DDR3 1333 MHz SDRAM OnBoard Memory, 128 GB and 256 GB SSD hard disk and runs on Windows 7 operating system. It also has USB 2.0, USB 3.0, VGA port, micro HDMI, audio in and out pots, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. This Ultrabook will be available in India at 89999, its availability is not confirmed yet.
5. Samsung Series 9
This is the second generation model of Samsung's series 9 laptops. The company claims it is 37 percent thinner and 181 grams lighter than the first generation series 9 models and both the 13 and 15 inch models has an aluminum body. Series 9 ultrabooks are powered by 1.6 GHz Intel i5 processor, Intel HD 3000 graphics card, 128 GB SSD and runs on Windows 7 operating system. Both 13 and 15 inch models have 1600x900 screen resolutions, 500 GB of hard disk, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, webcam, USB, built in SD card reader and HDMI port. Both the 13 inch and 15 inch model weighs just 1.13 kilograms and comes with 4 GB and 8 GB of RAM respectively. In India the price of these Ultrabooks are estimated to be around 55000 to 80000 and its availability is not confirmed yet.
6. Dell XPS13
XPS 13 is the first ultrabook of Dell. It is a sleek and light weight ultrabook featuring 13 inch display with Gorilla Glass, weighing just 1.3 kilograms and 0.71 inch of thickness. The device comes with Core i3, i5, or i7 processors, a 128 GB or 256 GB SSD hard disk, and 4 GB of RAM. XPS13 has a backlit keyboard with a large glass multitouch touchpad, a mini DisplayPort, an Ethernet jack and a high-quality audio that comes out of the keyboard. It also sports USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0 port, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The availability of this device is not yet announced but its expected the price could be around 60000.
7. LG Super Ultrabook Z330
The LG Super Ultrabook Z330 has a 13 inch HD LED Backlit display with 1366x768 pixels of resolution, measuring less than 0.6 inch and weighing just 1.2 kilograms. It comes with Intel core i5 or i7 processor, Intel HD 3000 graphic card, 4 GB RAM, 120 GB or 256 GB SSD hard disk and has Windows 7 OS. For connectivity it has USB 2.0, USB 3.0, Mic-in/headphone out, HDMI port, Wireless LAN, Bluetooth and Multi-Format Card Reader. Details regarding its availability and price in India are not yet announced.
8. Lenovo IdeaPad U410
Lenovo IdeaPad U410 ultrabook comes with 14 inch HD LED Backlit display screen, powered by Intel Core i5 processors, 4 GB of RAM, 500 GB hard disk (64 GB SSD optional), NVIDIA GeForce 610M 1GB graphic card and Windows 7 OS. This device is just 0.78 inch thickness and weighing just 1.9 kilogram. It has stereo speakers, USB, mini HDMI, Wi-Fi, Intel Wireless Display (WiDi), Gigabit Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth, multi card reader and HD web camera with built in Microphones. This Ultrabook will cost at 45000 and will be available by May 2012.
9. Toshiba Satellite
Toshiba Satellite Z830 has a magnificent design with all necessary ports and slots in to a thin and lighter chassis. It has a 13 inch LED Backlit display with 1366x768 pixels of resolution, powered by Intel i5 processor with HD 3000 graphic cards, 4 GB of RAM and comes with Windows 7 OS. It supports 128 GB of SSD hard disk, 3 USB 2.0, 1 USB 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI, Microphone, VGA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It’s available in India at 68000.
10. Vizio Ultrabook
Vizio, the cheap Television manufacturer has now launched ultrathin laptops and has entered the PC market. Vizio has launched 14 and 15.6 inch Ultrabooks which features Intel processor, 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB or 256 GB of SSD hard disk with Windows 7 operating system at CES 2012. The device also supports Bluetooth, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI port and the company has not yet revealed other specifications. The price detail is not declared but the device will be available in by May 2012.
